My children were a part of a homeschooling co-op using the Principle Approach. By being a part of this, they were able to see how man-made government works along with how Yeshua wants us to live under His rules and government. It enabled them to think it out and reason it out in a way that made sense to them. It also helped them understand Him and His Word better. We really enjoyed our time learning this way and the co-op as a whole because of it.
As a Principle Approach student, I have been taught the value of testing everything in light of the Word of God. The 4R Method, which is a very effective and organized way to study, has helped me to develop the ability to reason Biblically in every area of my life. The Principle Approach is such a rewarding method!
I’m so excited to have come across your blog. We will be starting homeschool this year for the first time. I taught Kindergarten before staying home with our children (as well as Sunday School classes and Childrens Church). My husband taught at a PA school for 3 years and we fell in love with the fundamental biblical truth aspect of the approach. Thank you for your honesty and blog, it will be a greatly appreciated point of reference and ‘source’ for me as we figure out what works best for our growing family.
It sounds WONDERFUL! My girls are now 22 & 19, so obviously we have graduated them from our homeschool and I’m now “retired”, but boy, if I had to do over again, I would have LOVED this. We did study Hebrew the last few years of our schooling, but if I had known then what I know now, this would have certainly been part of our schooling. Blessings to you and yours! Keep up the good work! (ps, I hope you don’t mind that I’m following you, but I still like to keep a little current with homeschooling, esp. if it’s Biblical and Providential… perhaps if the Father tarries, I can have a part in teaching my grandchildren someday). ♥
My children and I really enjoyed the art lessons taught by Heather. They were creative and easy to follow with her step-by-step instruction. We also really appreciated how the lessons always focused on Godly principles.
Your work/curriculum is sorely needed for homeschool mothers!!!!! Many would like to use the PA approach but will not due to the time and involvement by mom, they so not realize the Lord is growing the mom along with the little ones, I know I’ve been there with PA. Do not let this ministry the Lord has put in your path to get sidelined as this is true learning and a blessing for mom once mom embraces it. The Lord will provide all we need IF we seek after Him with all our hearts.
What I really appreciate about Principled Academy is how I am encouraged to keep going in times when I feel overwhelmed and am struggling…which happens often! I can just go here and instantly be refreshed again. There’s a beautiful connection in my heart that the Lord fills every time I visit this page.
Implementing the 4R method of learning brought a greater understanding and a whole new depth to learning for us. We also grew spiritually as we delved into Yahweh’s Word.
Heather, this is wonderful! It’s so hard to get away from a Greek mindset and embrace a Hebrew one instead. Yet, it is so essential to understand the Bible! Excellent!
My children were so blessed by the Bible Principle art lessons they received during our homeschool co-op with Heather. My children were taught new technique and perspective in a positive group environment. The children were guided through their lessons with patience and understanding and as a result walked away with some amazing pieces of art that they could be proud of.
Whether you’re a newly convinced parent or just beginning to prod the possibilities of educating your children using the Principle Approach, you’ll find Principled Academy a resource you turn to time and again for clarity and encouragement. Heather has done a wonderful job of making what seems like a difficult concept easy to understand by doing exactly what the Principle Approach requires, searching the Scriptures. I highly recommend Principled Academy to any family looking into the Principle Approach or if you want to recapture the Biblical model of education.
Notebook pages are a great help. I love your art ideas also.
