How to Easily Pull Together Principle Approach® Lessons
With the excitement of the new school year around the corner, Molly is ready to have the best Bible Principles school year ever. Do you remember Molly? How to Easily Pull Together Principle Approach® Lessons
Firstly, Molly consults the Noah Plan® overviews of her choice to find out what topic is to be covered that week. Using the framework of the lesson planning sheet below, she writes down her decisions. Next, she references the topic in the Noah Plan® curriculum guides, red books, and other suggested reads found in the overviews on the topic. She either jots down the pages she’ll turn to and read directly from sentences she has highlighted in her books, or she’ll jot down her narration of it. It’s her choice. At the bottom of this planning sheet, she writes a concluding sentence which helps them reason together from Scripture about the Leading Idea.
There’s something you need to know about Molly’s family. She has several children of various ages and abilities. For the sake of clarity, any of our posts about “grade level” would be about comprehension abilities. The short lesson she made needs to be an expanded topic for her older students. She also needs to decide what kind of notebook work to have her students do. To aid her in both of these, she decides on what books and what number of pages to have her students read (or read aloud to her non-reading students) for this particular week. It can be as simple as printing out the free generic notebook pages found in the free Caterpillar Members’ Club area, or as a note to refer to for when she’s ready to have her students use ruled paper, rulers, and pencils to make their own.
Lastly, Molly will provide some Bible verses and definitions to look up in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary for her children. In addition, she’ll think of Reason and Relate questions for them. Likely, these will spring from her own questions, Bible verse and definition studies on the topic. Knowing her children, she’ll word the questions in a way that they will comprehend them. Together, they will learn and grow in their understanding and relationship with our Savior Yeshua (Jesus). Molly will tuck her children in bed with feelings of contentment, peace, and joy that she is diligently teaching her children about the Lord and His ways and how to think and reason Biblically. Hooray for Molly!!
Having the visual checklists for the grade ranges is extremely helpful to Molly. They help her be reminded of what her children will be doing and also helps her to quickly decide what notebook page styles she wants her children to do for any given lesson.
