Five Ways a Biblical Worldview Can Bring Hope and Healing to a Broken World

What a mess sin makes of the world! From the individual to personal relationships to nations as a whole, there’s a lot of brokenness. But the good news, as many of you know, is that Jesus is ruling and reigning today and He brings hope and healing to a broken world. Therefore, a Biblical worldview can bring hope and healing to a broken world as individuals operate in God’s truths.

Improving Society

Loving our neighbor has to do with voluntarily improving society. That Christian idea is out of a love for God and for others. When Christians operate in this fallen world with Christ-like character, we’re able to help move society away from tyranny or anarchy. To be clear, Christ-like character has to do with living within God’s moral law and applying His principles to life. The only reason we’re able to do that is because of Christ governing in and through us out of love for God and our fellow man.

Do you know that there are five basic life categories that hugely affect a nation? Dan Smithwick of Nehemiah Institute has ingenuously developed a worldview test to help individuals learn where they’re current worldview is in the categories of Politics (think government), Economics, Education, Religion, and Social Issues (aka the P.E.E.R.S. worldview test).

1. The Biblical Worldview of Politics for Ambassadors of Christ

Really, by politics the intent is to think government. Now, government isn’t just a reference to civil government. Rather, it refers to the categories of individual Christian self-government, family government, Church government, and civil government. In the Bible, God has something to say about each of those spheres of government.

2. How a Biblical Worldview of Economics Can Bring Hope and Healing to a Broken World

Deuteronomy 8:18 teaches us: “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

Wealth is God’s idea and He has things to say about it in the Bible. That means that God does care about the economics of the individual, the Church, and nations.

3. The Biblical Worldview of Education Can Bring Hope and Healing to a Broken World

Proverbs 9:10 teaches us: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

Education has to do with training the character of the individual. Character is either being trained to by godly or not. Ideally, as we train character, we also develop minds to think and reason Biblically.

4. The Biblical Worldview of Religion Can Bring Hope and Healing to a Broken World

The word religion can make some people uncomfortable or even upset. But if we have the Biblical worldview definition of it, then we’ll better understand how individuals and the Church can impact the world as ambassadors for Christ.

5. The Biblical Worldview About Social Issues for Ambassadors of Christ

What categories fall under the sphere of social issues? How does Micah 6:8 have anything to do with each of those particular categories within the concerns of social issues?
