Education From a Biblical Worldview
If there’s one thing I could choose for parents to tune into it’d be the need to learn about education from a biblical worldview. There’s a battle raging and education is one of the main battlefields. We Christian parents need serious equipping for this battle of worldviews.

Restoration Era on the History of Liberty Timeline
Providential History
Take a listen . . .When we first started homeschooling, it seemed simple enough. We just needed to decide to homeschool, follow our state’s homeschool laws, choose our favorite curriculum, and follow through with lessons. And what could be better than spending time as a family and with good friends? Several options for homeschool socialization exist, enriching our lives in natural ways. As a bonus, we Christian homeschooling parents have the ability to teach from a biblical worldview. However, all of those aspects aren’t enough for developing a character that sustains and promotes liberty.
If we care about our children’s and grandchildren’s future, we need to care about comprehending philosophies and methods of education, and their results. The outcome of education either produces minds that understand, support, and promote liberty, or minds that fall for tyranny (i.e. socialism, Marxism, communism). These things all have to do with worldview. Therefore, we need to become well-learned in the ideas of educational philosophies and methods.
Self-Educating About Education
We have the liberty to educate ourselves on the big picture of education, without the need for obtaining a degree in education. Thankfully, there are Christians with a biblically theistic worldview who are there to guide us through their curriculum and trainings. When we’re equipped, we can discern if curriculum is offering a biblical philosophy and methods, along with content.

One of the categories on the PEERS® Worldview test by Nehemiah Institute, Inc.® is “education.” Therefore, one excellent tool in our homeschool toolbox is the Education From a Biblical Worldview self-paced online course. It helps us develop a biblical theology of education.
Education From a Biblical Worldview Online Course
The good news is that we have some amazing resources made available to us by Christians with a solid biblical worldview to equip us. The “Education From a Biblical Worldview” self-paced, online course is excellent for parents and high school students.
Here is the table of contents for the “Education From a Biblical Worldview” course:
- Lesson 1: Defining Worldview
- Lesson 2: Humanism: The Anti-Christian Worldview
- Lesson 3: The Humanistic versus the Biblical Tradition in Education
- Lesson 4: Biblical Jurisdiction of Education
- Lesson 5: Content from a Biblical Worldview
- Lesson 6: The Biblical View of Human Behavior
- Lesson 7: Biblical Teaching Methods: Part 1
- Lesson 8: Biblical Teaching Methods: Part 2
- Lesson 9: Developing Sound Reasoning Skills
- Lesson 10: The Restoration of Biblical Education
The the table of contents give a general idea of what the course covers. However, the content is deeper than it sounds. It’s rich with theological truths and education. For instance, it explains the difference between a mind that receives revelation or denies it because of unbelief and how that affects one’s worldview. It details how a wrong worldview in theology, philosophy of man, and philosophy of education results in wrong content and methods. All of this matters in relation to the existence and identity of God.
This post already mentioned that education is a battle of worldviews. This course also teaches about how humanism is the anti-Christian worldview, and gives evidence for it being the original sin. So, in essence, we have two levels of warfare: humanism vs. Christianity. If we’re going to understand the struggles we’re facing in America, we need to understand the humanistic vs. biblical traditions in education. The Education From a Biblical Worldview self-paced, online course lays out a timeline of key individuals, institutions, and documents that established the original form of education in America—a Biblical Classical Education, which is an approach based on principles. It also gives a detailed timeline of key individuals and institutions that rerouted America’s Christian education in schools with secular humanist education in schools.
Furthermore, this course teaches the biblical jurisdictions of education, how “professional” teachers are controlled, some of the issues with Bloom’s Taxonomy, how psychology plays into modern education, and how these things are integrated into many curricula—including curricula produced by some Christian brands.
Truth in Education is Powerful
The truth is the only thing powerful enough to help us restore education to the Bible, which in effect helps us preserve and sustain liberty. Even if we have a high school student who isn’t looking at teaching as a profession, this course is a necessity. It helps high school students learn about the battle ground of education, equips them with discernment, and helps them understand the times.
